• This is the oldest and one of the most importants district in the history of Lisbon. Narrow streets, high slopes, small shops and an excellent environment are the reasons why this district is so charming at the eyes of many.
  • The main attractions: Saint Jorge's Castle (Castelo de São Jorge), Lisbon cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), Church of São Vicente de For a(Igreja de São Vicente de Fora) and the belvederes of Portas do Sol (Miradouro de Portas do Sol) and Santa Luzia (Miradouro de Santa Luzia).
  • To eat: This area is great to eat at very cheap prices and ear Fado but usually one cannot have both. If you enjoy Fado or would like to experience it please try "Clube do Fado" or "Parreirinha de Alfama" and if you are on a low budget and enjoy a good portuguese meal please try "Malmequer Bemmequer" or "Tasca da Sé".
